For the places you need to know in Dublin

All Things Fashion

There were quite the few fashion happenings in Town last night. Brown Thomas once again played host last night to the Irish National Final of the Triumph Inspiration Awards 2012. Triumph is of the world’s leading lingerie brands, in case you are unaware!

Sixteen fashion students from award-winning Griffith College Dublin and Limerick School of Art & Design demonstrated their creativity and expertise by producing a catwalk showpiece to represent this year’s theme “Dragons and Butterflies”.

The night belonged to Jordan Edmonds Moore, a 21 year old fashion design student from Limerick who will now be representing Ireland at the global final in Shanghi in October. The Limerick School of Art & Design are celebrating a hat-trick for the second year in a row with Jordan’s victory.

It was very impressive to watch the creations of these young designers on the Brown Thomas catwalk. As you can imagine, the atmosphere was electric and the production fantastic. Job well done!

Also last night was the unveiling of the pop-up Peroni Boutique at No 6 Castle Market, perfectly nestled off South William Street in the Creative Quarter.

This also marked the launch of The Peroni Moda Awards - a competition to discover talented and aspiring designers in Ireland. The awards are in partnership with Marco de Vincenzo who designs for Fendi and himself. Nice.

The prize is an opportunity to work with Marco behind the scenes at his catwalk shows during Milan Fashion Week. This will appeal to many aspiring designer, so do spread the word!
